The Eufy Robovac 11 seems like most of the other mid-priced robotic vacuum cleaners on the market. It has a rolling brush, dual side brushes, suction port, dust bin, primary filter, foam filter and HEPA filter.
What is included with the Robovac 11?
- Charging base
- remote control (requires two AAA batteries)
- power adapter
- cleaning tool
- four side brushes (that means two spare brushes)
- one spare HEPA filter
- one extra foam filter
- Robovac 11 owners manual
Remove the robotic vacuum cleaner from the box. Fit two of the side brushes into their places. Take out the charging base and put it against the wall next to an electrical outlet. Plug the power adapter into the charging base and then the wall outlet.
You need to charge the robot before using it for the first time. There are two ways to do this. The first way is to put the Robovac 11 onto the charging base. The second way is plugging the adapter directly into the socket on the Robovac 11.
The time to test it out has arrived once the rechargeable battery is fully charged. Turn on the vacuum cleaning robot by pressing the power switch on its side. Press the AUTO button on its top, or the start button on the remote control, to put the cleaner to work.
Does it have multiple cleaning modes?
It has multiple cleaning modes. Its default mode is AUTO, which automatically selects different cleaning modes to adapt to its current situation. Press the AUTO button on the robotic vacuum cleaner or the AUTO button on the remote control. The Robovac 11 will roam around the home, cleaning multiple rooms until it automatically returns to its charging base (or runs out of power).
Press the SPOT cleaning button on the remote control to make the robot clean a specific area where dust and dirt have congregated. The Robovac 11 will clean in a spiral pattern, from the center outwards.
The EDGE cleaning mode is not for cleaning the guitarist of U2 (a great band). Instead, it tells the Robovac 11 to follow and clean the edges of a wall.
The MAX cleaning mode increases suction power to the maximum. This mode is recommended for cleaning low-pile carpets.
The SINGLE ROOM cleaning mode is selected by pressing the single room mode button on the remote control. This mode is the best for cleaning one room at a time, but remember to close the door to prevent the robot from leaving the room. There is no virtual wall to limit its cleaning area.
You are able to direct the Robovac 11 in four directions when it is in MANUAL cleaning mode. It can go left, right, forward or backward.
Does it have a clock function?
It has a clock function which can be changed with the remote control. Press the TIME button and use the directional buttons to set the hours and minutes. Press the clock or start button to set the time. The robot vacuum will beep once if the time has been accepted.
Does it have a cleaning schedule?
You can schedule the robot to automatically start cleaning at a specific time. Use the schedule button on the remote control to enter the scheduling mode. Set the hour and minutes with the directional buttons and the start button.
How much maintenance does it need?
Check to see if the robot has returned to its charging base and recharged its battery. Daily maintenance is limited to cleaning the dust collector bin after every cleaning cycle.
You can wash the dust bin and foam filter with clean water. Let it dry completely before putting it back together again. However, do not wash the HEPA filter because it could get damaged. Replace the HEPA filter every few months. Dust off the sensors and charging base pins. Clean the rolling brush and side brushes.
Does the Robovac 11 avoid stairs?
The robotic vacuum cleaner has drop sensors in its front which can detect steep drops like stairs. It will avoid such dangerous areas if it detects them.
The robot vacuum can clean thin, low-pile carpets when you put it in MAX mode. However, it cannot clean thick, high-pile carpets. Very dark carpets or floors might confuse its cliff sensors and cause it to avoid cleaning areas with very dark or black floors.
Robovac 11S: Slimmer And Stronger
With a height of only 2.85 inches, the Robovac 11S is designed to be slimmer. For safety, this robot vacuum features an anti-scratch tempered glass top cover, an infrared sensor for avoiding obstructions, and drop-sensing technology to avoid falling down the stairs as in a terrible mystery fiction movie.
What exactly is this BoostIQ technology that Eufy mentions? When greater vacuuming strength is required for deeper cleaning results, it appears that the Robovac 11S automatically raises suction force within a second or two. Despite having a higher suction power of 1300 Pa, it is said to work discreetly.
The Eufy Robovac 11S can clean hardwood floors and medium-pile carpets for up to 100 minutes. This Robovac, like other robotic vacuum cleaners, automatically recharges itself on its charging station. Click here for current pricing on Amazon.
I am not going to say much about the Robovac 11S MAX, seeing as it looks pretty much the same as the 11S model. The only difference that I can find is that the Robovac 11S MAX has more suction power at 2000 Pa, compared to the 1300 Pa of the 11S unit. That is probably the reason why MAX is added to the end of the model name.
Eufy Robovac 11 vs. G20
The Robovac G20 model is obviously a newer model, because it has stronger suction power, it can connect to the Eufy app, and it is compatible with Alexa. Furthermore, it is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop combination. Thus, it has the ability to both vacuum and mop hard floor surfaces. However, it is not recommended for medium-pile carpets, due to its mopping attachment. You need to refill the mopping water reservoir by hand when you want the robot to do some mopping.
In brief, the Robovac G20 is a relatively inexpensive robot vacuum and mop that works well for removing dust and pet hair from hard floors, but do not buy it if you have a lot of carpets. This model also does not have a floor mapping function, so get a different model if you want your robotic vacuum cleaner to map the rooms in your house.
Robovac 11 vs. Roomba 650
The first thing that people mention is the price. The Eufy Robovac has a slightly higher list price compared to the Roomba 650. Even so, the online sales price of the Robovac 11 is sometimes a few dollars less than the Roomba. Almost unbelievable! Another difference is the noise level: the Robovac 11 operates at a lower decibel noise level than the Roomba 650. Of course, both of these robot vacuums are now basically obsolete, since they have been superseded by many newer models.
Verdict
The Eufy Robovac 11 has advanced navigation and a remote control. It cleans low-pile carpets and hard floors. The robot vacuum is powered by a 2600mAh Li-ion battery that gives it a maximum cleaning time of about 100 minutes. The battery recharges within 5 to 6 hours.
To conclude, the Eufy Robovac 11 seems to be an amazing robotic vacuum cleaner that works well for cleaning hard floors and thin carpets. Even though its suction power is strong enough to vacuum away pet hair and dust, it might still be described as a quiet robotic vacuum cleaner (shop now on Amazon).
