ILIFE V7s Review: It Vacuums Well But That Damped Mop Sucks!

The ILIFE V7s is a robotic vacuum cleaner with a mop attachment for damp mopping hard floors. It seems like an affordable vacuum cleaning robot, but does it earn our admiration or our apathy?

ILIFE V7s vs. V5s

They share similar features, but the V7s has a single side brush and a rolling main brush, while the V5s has two side brushes without a central rotating brush. Therefore, the V5s is not able to brush carpets and is only suitable for sweeping and damp mopping hard floors. The V7s can brush thin carpets with its rotating bristle brush.

ILIFE V7 vs. V7s

The biggest difference between these models is that the V7 model does not have a water tank, while the V7s has a removable water tank with a small pump. Therefore, the V7 can only dry mop the floor with its small cloth attachment, while the V7s can damp mop the floor with its larger mopping cloth and water tank. Still, it might be safer to remove the water tank before the robot recharges on its charging dock to prevent any possible water leakage problems.

The V7 has a small dust bin with a 300 milliliter capacity. The V7s has a larger dust bin with a 500 milliliter size and a HEPA filter. These V-series vacuum cleaning robots share the other features such as the side brush, rotating brush, self-recharging, remote control and scheduling function.

You might also consider the ILIFE V8s, which is a newer model. It has an even larger 750 milliliter dust bin and six cleaning modes. It has a remote control, small LCD screen and a schedule function (read more details on Amazon).

Does the V7s have a smartphone app?

No, it does not have a smartphone app. It only has a remote control that can command the robotic vacuum cleaner from up to 4 meters away.

Does it have virtual walls?

No, this robotic vacuum cleaner does not use virtual walls. You have to close a door or create a temporary obstacle if you want it to stay in a certain room or avoid a specific area.

What is shipped in the box?

The box probably has the following contents: robot vacuum, extra side brush, cleaning tool, 500ml dust bin, HEPA filter, 450ml water tank, mopping cloth, charging station, power adapter, instruction manual and remote control with two AAA batteries.

Verdict: Unimpressed By The V7s

We do not like robotic vacuum cleaners with mop attachments because they have limited mopping abilities. The ILIFE V7s is probably better at vacuuming than damp mopping. You also have to remove the mopping cloth if you want it to self-recharge or clean carpets and rugs.

This robotic vacuum cleaner is getting mixed reviews. Some owners enjoy its vacuuming and damp mopping combination. Other people are not impressed with its mopping ability, navigational problems, reliability and poor customer service. We would rather try the ILIFE A6 for vacuuming and the iRobot Braava 380t robotic mop for mopping the floor.

Bottom line: the ILIFE V7s is an inexpensive robotic vacuum and mop, but you need patience to troubleshoot its mopping problem. We do not recommend it because of this and other minor difficulties.
